Overview

Located in an historic home, Talbot Grove was established in 1993 with the aim of treating people with addictions and other related issues.

The centre is located in the picturesque county of Kerry, adjacent to Castleisland town in a pleasant and peaceful environment. It has the feeling of being at home with its comfortable surroundings, pleasant walks and areas for contemplation but with the assurance of privacy and confidentially.

All treatments are broadly based on a combination of the Minnesota Model of Addiction Treatment and the 12 Step Approach originally developed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

Our services are delivered by a team of professionally qualified & highly experienced Addiction Counsellors at our centre in Castleisland, the only one of its kind in the South West.

Success Stories

The Puppeteer

"

I attended Talbot Grove many years ago and I have to say it was one of the best life changing experiences that I have ever had. The counsellors were fantastic; their understanding of the disease of addiction was powerful, which in turn helped me to step into my own recovery.

This sculpture was commissioned by a lady who completed the treatment programme at Talbot Grove in the first few years of its existence.

The hands are wearing puppeteer’s gloves to depict a person making a decision, considering their next move, attempting to make the best choice.

This is what recovery is about, and the person who has come to Talbot Grove has already made the first move.

Recovery from addiction is about just doing "the next right thing".
